Description
Award winning British Cassis has been made for over 10 years on the family farm of Herefordshire blackcurrant grower, Jo Hilditch.
This British take on the french aperitif, Crème de Cassis, has won numerous awards, including Great Taste 2015, and received rave reviews from the press and
celebrity chefs nationwide, including Mark Hix. It has also been featured on BBC programmes, dragons’ den and Countryfile.
Inspired by the popular french cocktail Kir Royale, Jo wanted to use her blackcurrant crop to create a modern twist on the traditional french liqueur, Crème de Cassis. By using methods similar to wine production, rather than distillation, she created a fruity and fresh British alternative – British Cassis.
As well as managing the production of this wonderful liqueur, Jo is also Chairperson of The Blackcurrant foundation. Her dedication to the proper husbandry of blackcurrants is apparent, not only in her work with the foundation, but also in the taste and quality of the product
